The Kavli Prize Goverment's Banquet | Oslo City Hall | September 4, 2018
THE KAVLI PRIZE BANQUET is held at Oslo's City Hall, one of Norway's most famous buildings and home to the art of masters such as Per Krohg, Henrik Sørensen, Alf Rolfsen and Edvard Munch. Taking place in the magnificent Great Hall, which is also the venue for the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony, the banquet is attended by members of the Royal Family, and features addresses by the laureates, as well as special musical performances and presentations. The banquet is hosted by the Norwegian government.
In 2018, Minister of Research and Higher Education, Iselin Nybø, was the host for the Banquet in honor of the Kavli Prize laureates.
His Majesty King Harald V was present, and aproximately 550 guests attended . The Keynote Speaker for the evening was Marcia McNutt, president of the National Academy of Sciences (US).
